Tundra Jerking Acceleration Whistling Noise
Summary of the thread
A 2003 Toyota Tundra is experiencing jerking during acceleration, a whistling noise, increased fuel consumption, and power loss, with the check engine light on. These symptoms suggest a potential issue with the boost pressure sensor, possibly due to a defective cable or plug connection. The recommended solution is to have the vehicle inspected at a workshop, and if the sensor is faulty, it should be replaced. After replacing the boost pressure sensor, the vehicle's performance improved significantly.

Yeah, it definitely seems to get worse when I accelerate and the turbo is working harder. How did you figure out what was wrong with your Saab?

With my Saab it was the same. It turned out to be a defective cable or plug connection of the boost pressure sensor, which caused the described symptoms. I'd advise getting it checked at a workshop. If the boost pressure sensor is actually defective, you will have to replace it.

Thanks for the advice! I took it to a shop, and they said it was indeed the boost pressure sensor. They replaced it, and it cost me about 95€. Runs like a charm again!

Sounds like a boost leak. I had a similar issue with my old Saab 9-3. Check engine light, weird noises, the whole shebang. Does it only happen when the turbo is supposed to kick in?
