Tundra NOx Catalyst Aging

Hey, I'm having trouble with my 2016 Toyota Tundra with a gasoline engine. It's only got 33203 km on it, but the check engine light keeps popping on. The codes say something about NOx storage catalyst aging, and I smell exhaust fumes sometimes. Has anyone else run into this?

Summary of the thread

A 2016 Toyota Tundra with 33,203 km was experiencing a check engine light due to NOx storage catalyst aging and occasional exhaust fumes. The issue was identified as an exhaust leak near one of the catalytic converters. Repairing the leak resolved the problem.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

I had a similar issue with my Tundra. Have you checked for any exhaust leaks? That was the culprit in my case.

An exhaust leak, huh? Where exactly was the leak on yours? I'll take a peek tomorrow.

It was a small crack near one of the catalytic converters, a common spot apparently. Honestly, you're probably best off taking it to a shop to get it properly diagnosed and repaired.

Thanks for the tip! Turns out it WAS a leak in the exhaust system, just like you said. Cost me 265€ to fix. I'm glad its finally fixed now!
