Twingo Active Hood Fault

I have a 2020 Renault Twingo Electric with 155766 km on the clock. I'm getting an "Active hood fault" message and the airbag warning light is on. The error memory shows a fault related to the active hood system, and the spring actuators have been triggered. I suspect a defective acceleration sensor. Has anyone else experienced this?

That sounds annoying! I had a similar problem with my old Peugeot 208. The error messages were different, but it also involved the airbag light and some weird system faults. Have you checked the crash detection system? Could it be falsely triggering?

Interesting. I hadn't considered the crash detection system itself. Where did you find the issue on your Peugeot? Was it a specific sensor, or wiring?

I'm no mechanic! I just took it to the workshop after trying a few basic things myself. They said it was something to do with the sensor that detects impacts. It could be worth getting it checked out professionally on your Twingo too, before you start replacing things.

Thanks for the advice! I took it to a workshop, and you were right; it was a defective acceleration sensor linked to the active hood system. They replaced it, and the error is gone. Total cost was 315€.
