Twingo automatic transmission issue

My 2009 Renault Twingo (gasoline engine, 141438 km) is acting up. The automatic transmission is shifting poorly, the transmission indicator light is on, and it's stuck in emergency mode. It's not shifting properly. Could the oil be worn out?

Sounds familiar. I had a similar issue with my Twingo's automatic transmission. Does it seem to happen more when the car's been sitting for a while, or is it consistent?

Good question! It seems worse when it's cold, or after it has been sitting a while, yes. What was your experience?

Yep, same here. Turned out to be undervoltage causing the transmission to freak out. Best bet is to get it checked out at a workshop; they'll likely need to check the transmission oil and the electrical system.

Thanks! I took it to a shop, and you nailed it. They confirmed undervoltage and that the transmission oil was worn. Replaced the oil, fixed the voltage issue, and now it runs smoothly again. Cost me 240€, but worth it!
