Thanks for the quick reply! You think it's definitely the crankshaft sensor? I was wondering if the camshaft sensor could also cause this. How did you determine it was indeed the crankshaft sensor and not something else?

Without seeing your car, it's tough to say for sure, but the symptoms and the error code point towards the crank sensor. Given the age and mileage, it's a likely cause. I'd recommend taking it to a trusted workshop for a proper diagnosis. They can test the sensor and confirm if it's faulty. Don't keep driving it like that, or you might cause further damage.

Thank you for your advice. I took the Twingo to my mechanic, and you were right, it was the crankshaft sensor. Replacing it cost me 340€, including labor. Now it runs like new again!

I also drive a Twingo, although a slightly newer model. I had similar symptoms a while back: reduced power, check engine light, the works. For me, it was the crankshaft sensor. It's worth checking. Have you looked at the sensor connections for corrosion or damage?
