Twingo cruise control failure

Hey, my 2009 Renault Twingo diesel's cruise control has suddenly stopped working. Done 206070 km. It just refuses to engage, and there's now an error logged. Could it be a fuse? I've checked the dashboard lights, and nothing seems out of the ordinary. I'm thinking maybe a defective pedal switch? Any ideas before I start wrestling with the steering wheel or the clock spring?

Greetings. I experienced a similar issue with my Renault Modus. Does the error message point to a specific component, such as a pedal position sensor or a steering wheel control module? Have you inspected the cable and plug connections associated with the cruise control system? A defective connection is a common culprit. Begin by scrutinizing the relevant wiring diagrams and verifying the integrity of the electrical circuits with a multimeter. Think of it like tracing the flow of blood through arteries; a blockage anywhere will cause problems.

Thanks! The error code isn't super specific, just says 'cruise control malfunction'. The cable connections sound plausible, though. Which connections on your Modus gave you grief, and where are they located? Is it worth checking the connections near the steering wheel and pedal switch?

On my Modus, the issue stemmed from a corroded connector near the accelerator pedal assembly. However, considering your Twingo's configuration, I strongly advise against attempting any repairs without proper diagnostic tools and technical expertise. The potential for inadvertently triggering the airbag system or damaging sensitive electronic components is significant. The cost of repair was 95€. Seek professional assistance from a qualified Renault technician who can accurately diagnose the fault and perform the necessary repairs. Engaging in DIY repairs without sufficient knowledge can lead to further complications and increased expenses. To extend the blood analogy: let a surgeon handle the operation, not a butcher.

Cheers for the advice! Sounds like I'm best off taking it to a garage. Much appreciated!
