Twingo Electric random errors

I'm having serious issues with my 2021 Renault Twingo Electric. It's got around 99317 km on it. I keep getting random 'Service Required' error messages, and sometimes the malfunction indicator light comes on. The weirdest thing is that various systems seem to fail, mostly the audio and navigation stuff. Sometimes the whole thing just shuts down momentarily, or the controls become totally unresponsive! I checked the error memory, and it's definitely storing errors. Anyone experienced anything similar?

Summary of the thread

A 2021 Renault Twingo Electric with around 99,317 km is experiencing random 'Service Required' error messages, malfunction indicator light activations, and failures in audio and navigation systems. The vehicle sometimes shuts down or becomes unresponsive, and error codes are stored. The issue is suspected to be a defective cable connection to the control unit, specifically related to the BUS system. A workshop visit confirmed this diagnosis, and repairing the connection resolved the problem.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Sounds frustrating! I have a Twingo too, and I had similar weird electrical issues a while back. Random errors, systems failing... does it feel like a loose connection somewhere?

Yeah, it does feel like a connection problem! What exactly was the issue with yours? Did you manage to fix it yourself, or did you have to take it in?

I couldn't pinpoint the exact cause myself. Based on your description and error memory, I suspect a defective cable connection to the control unit (connection to the BUS system). I'd suggest a workshop visit to confirm, but that sounds very familiar. Getting it properly diagnosed saved me a ton of headache in the long run.

Thanks so much for the advice! It's a relief to know someone else has had the same problem. I took it to the workshop, and you were spot on defective cable connection to the control unit (connection to the BUS system). Cost me 155€, but at least it's sorted now!
