Twingo Engine Overheating
Summary of the thread
A 2012 Renault Twingo with 222,721 km is experiencing severe overheating and slow warm-up times. The issue is suspected to be related to the thermostat, despite normal coolant levels and no visible leaks. A similar problem in another vehicle was resolved by replacing a defective thermostat. The workshop confirmed the thermostat as the cause, and a repair was quoted to address the issue.
Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Coolant level is fine, strangely enough. No obvious leaks either. So, you reckon it could still be the thermostat, even without coolant loss?

Yep, that's exactly what happened with my Astra. Coolant level normal, no leaks, but the thermostat was busted. The garage diagnosed it as a defective map thermostat. Get it checked out at a workshop; it could save you a lot of headaches!

Appreciate the insight! I dropped it off at the workshop, and they confirmed it’s the thermostat – exactly as you said! They quoted me around 350€ for the repair. Hopefully, that'll sort it.

Sounds familiar. I had a similar issue with my old Opel Astra, though it was a diesel. Overheating and slow warm-up times point to cooling issues. Did you check the coolant level?
