Twingo exhaust back pressure sensor issue

Thanks! I used an OBD II scanner, and it showed error code P0471, which means the exhaust pressure sensor is bad. I know scanners aren't perfect, but the code and the smoke make me think it's the sensor. Do you remember what error codes your Volvo showed?

Okay, P0471 definitely points to the sensor. My Volvo was throwing similar codes, though I can't remember the exact number now. Honestly, I'd say bite the bullet and get it checked out by a professional. Exhaust issues can snowball quickly.

Thanks, I think you're right about getting it checked. I took my Twingo to the garage. They said the exhaust back pressure sensor was faulty. They replaced it for 245€, and that fixed the problem. Thanks for the help!

That sounds rough! I had a similar issue with my old Volvo V40 a while back – warning lights and all. Smoke's never a good sign. Are you sure it's the back pressure sensor? Did you get any specific error codes?
