Twingo hard start camshaft sensor

I own a 2013 Renault Twingo with a gasoline engine. Recently, the car has been difficult to start, and the engine power seems reduced. Diagnostic check revealed an error related to the camshaft sensor. Could a defective cable or plug connection really be the cause? The car has 82355 km on the clock.

Oh, a Twingo! I had similar issues with mine - though I didn't check the error memory. Hard starts and sluggish performance, right? I'm no expert, but have you looked at the crankshaft position sensor too? It works closely with the camshaft sensor, and if your timing is off, that can definitely cause those symptoms.

Crankshaft position sensor... Thank you for the hint! I had only focused on the camshaft position. But could a faulty crankshaft sensor be so similar that it seems to be the same issue?

Well, I'm only going by my experience, and I was worried I was going to be stranded somewhere. All those sensors are connected, and if one acts up, it can throw off the whole engine. I recommend getting it checked by a professional. They can properly diagnose which sensor is the culprit and if there's anything else going on!

Thank you for sharing your experience. I followed your advice and took the Twingo to a local workshop. Turns out, it was indeed the camshaft sensor and its cable. Repair cost was 95€. Appreciate your help!
