Twingo knock sensor issue
Summary of the thread
A 2016 Renault Twingo is experiencing an illuminated malfunction indicator lamp, increased fuel consumption, and irregular idling, with diagnostics indicating a knock sensor fault. The issue may stem from a defective cable or plug. It is suggested to check the wiring and connector for continuity before replacing the sensor, as incorrect readings from the sensor can lead to poor performance. Ultimately, a certified technician identified and resolved the problem by addressing a defective knock sensor connection.

How do I check the wiring harness continuity? What points or resistance values should I check?

Continuity testing might reveal a broken wire, but pinpointing the exact issue without diagnostic tools is hard. Given your symptoms, the knock sensor or its connection is suspect. Consult a qualified mechanic, these sensors are fragile and hard to reach.

I booked a certified technician. It was a defective knock sensor connection. Replacement cost 95€.

A faulty knock sensor can cause those symptoms. The ECU uses it to adjust ignition timing, so incorrect readings lead to poor performance and the check engine light. Before replacing the sensor, make sure the wiring and connector are in good condition. Don't just look, test the wiring harness continuity.
