Twingo Overheating Electric Fan Issue

Hi, I have a 2013 Renault Twingo (gasoline engine) with 75806 km. Recently, the engine started overheating. I checked, and the electric fan doesn't seem to be kicking in. I suspect a faulty connection, maybe a cable or plug issue. Has anyone experienced something similar?

Hey! Overheating definitely isn't good. If the fan's not running, and you're suspecting a wiring issue, have you checked the fuse for the electric fan? A blown fuse is a quick and easy check before diving deeper into wiring or the fan motor itself.

Good point about the fuse, thanks. I checked the fuse box, and visually, the fan fuse looks okay. Is there a reliable way to test a fuse beyond just looking at it?

Visually inspecting fuses can be misleading; they can still be broken even if they look intact. Ideally, use a multimeter to check for continuity across the fuse. If you don't have one, swapping it with a known working fuse of the same amperage is an option. But based on your description, it's probably best to get it checked out by a workshop.

Thanks for the confirmation and advice! I took it to a local shop, and you were right, the cable connection of the electric fan was faulty. They repaired it for 95€.
