Twingo parking aid fault
Summary of the thread
A 2004 Renault Twingo's parking assistant is non-functional, with the error memory indicating a fault. The suspected causes include a defective cable or plug connection. A suggestion was made to check for grime on the sensors, as this was a similar issue for another Twingo owner. Cleaning the sensors temporarily resolved the problem, but ultimately, a new sensor was needed. Taking the car to a workshop for a professional check and repair is advised.

Thanks for the tip! I'll double-check that. Where were you finding the grime buildup – directly on the sensors, or somewhere else?

Right on the sensors themselves. Gave them a wipe and it sorted it for a while, but I ended up needing a new sensor. Workshop confirmed. Best get yours checked.

Thanks for the advice! I'll probably take it to a workshop, as I am quoted 95€ for the repair, including replacing the defective cable.

I have a Twingo too, and had something similar happen last year. Are all the sensors clean? I found grime was causing one of mine to throw a fault. Worth a quick check before diving into the wiring!
