Twingo temperature sensor issue
Summary of the thread
A 2011 Renault Twingo is experiencing issues with the temperature sensor heat exchanger, leading to error messages on the speedometer and a non-functional AC. The suspected cause is a faulty AC control unit or temperature sensor, potentially affecting the HVAC system. Checking coolant levels and looking for leaks were suggested, but with no visible issues, a professional diagnosis at a workshop is recommended to resolve the problem.

Coolant levels seem fine. No visible leaks. Do you remember the error code you had? Was it definitely the temperature sensor heat exchanger, or something else triggering it?

From what I remember, the error pointed to the temperature sensor, yes. It's likely the faulty sensor is causing the AC to malfunction as a safety measure. If you can't find anything obvious, it might be best to get it diagnosed at a workshop.

Thanks. Suspected as much. Looks like a trip to the workshop is unavoidable. They quoted around 980€, seems high but what can I do?

I have a Twingo, too. Similar symptoms. Error messages and AC issues point to a potential HVAC system problem. Did you check the coolant levels or look for any signs of coolant leaks? That sometimes messes with the temperature readings and AC.
