Twizy Alarm System Failure

Alright Twizy crew, my 2014 Renault Twizy (electric, naturally!) is throwing a fit. Seems the additional battery alarm system has gone rogue. Error's stored, but the alarm's completely dead. Anyone else seen this? I'm guessing it's the auxiliary battery, probably aged out with my 210027 km. Could that be it?

Summary of the thread

A 2014 Renault Twizy owner experienced a failure in the additional battery alarm system, suspecting the auxiliary battery due to its age and high mileage. Another individual with similar issues suggested checking the battery's charge and connections, recommending a diagnostic examination by a qualified technician to identify the root cause. Ultimately, the problem was confirmed to be a dead auxiliary battery, which was replaced, resolving the alarm system failure.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

I must say, your predicament sounds remarkably familiar. I, too, have experienced issues with my Twizy's alarm system. Is it possible that the battery's charge has diminished to an insufficient level to properly power the alarm functions? It would be prudent to ensure that all connections are secure and free from corrosion. Perhaps a diagnostic examination would be beneficial in discerning the root cause of this electrical anomaly.

Thanks for the reply! So, just to clarify, you had the same alarm issue on your Twizy? And you think it's likely just a weak battery, even with no other electrical weirdness going on? Any idea how you checked for that, or did you just shotgun a new battery in there?

In response to your inquiry, yes, the symptoms you describe correlate directly with the challenges I encountered. While a comprehensive diagnostic procedure would be the optimal course of action, I, in retrospect, believe that seeking the expertise of a qualified automotive electrical technician would be a prudent step. This is to ensure that all potential causes are rigorously examined and that any remedial actions are executed with the utmost precision and care. Replacing components without confirming the underlying problem could potentially lead to needless expenditure.

Cheers, that's pretty much what I was thinking. Bit the bullet and took it to a local shop – they confirmed it was a dead auxiliary battery. 330€ later, and the alarm's back in action. Appreciate the confirmation!
