Twizy seat heating failure
Summary of the thread
A 2012 Renault Twizy with 84,039 km has a seat heating issue, with the heating not functioning and an error in the system memory. The problem is likely due to a break in the heating element or a short circuit, rather than a faulty thermal sensor or blown fuse. It is recommended to take the vehicle to a workshop for diagnostics and repair, as specialized tools are needed to identify the exact issue.

Thanks, good analogy. I checked the fuses, and they're fine. Could a faulty thermal sensor in the seat be the cause, or would that not completely stop the heating and trigger an error code? I'm trying to avoid taking the seat apart if I can.

A faulty thermal sensor could cause issues, but it's less likely to completely disable the heating and throw an error. The sensor usually adjusts the heat, not acts as an on/off switch. The error code points to a break in the heating element or a short circuit. You should take it to a workshop for diagnostics. They can find the problem with special tools.

Okay, I appreciate the help. Sounds like a defective heating mat. I got a quote of 390€ for the repair, which seems reasonable. I'll get it fixed and let you know how it goes. Thanks again!

The error and lack of heat suggest the seat heating element itself is the problem. Like a broken lightbulb filament. Have you checked the fuses? A blown fuse would be the easiest explanation.
