Ulysee ABS speed signal fault
Summary of the thread
A 2007 Fiat Ulysee is experiencing a speed signal fault, with the ABS light constantly on and traction issues, rendering the ABS system ineffective. The problem might be related to a defective control unit, possibly the ECM. A similar case involved replacing a control unit, which resolved the issue but was costly. The recommendation is to take the vehicle to a workshop for professional diagnosis and repair.

Speedometer seems okay, but the transmission does feel a little jerky sometimes, especially at lower speeds. Could that really be connected to the ABS?

Yep, that's exactly what I experienced. The speed sensor fault messes with everything. Honestly, I tried looking into it myself, checking sensors and all that, but in the end, I just took it to a workshop. They replaced some control unit – cost me a pretty penny, around 1000€ if I remember right.

Thanks for the heads up! Sounds like I'm headed for the workshop too. Really appreciate you confirming the transmission issue; that gives me something specific to tell them. Fingers crossed it doesn't cost me quite as much!

Wow, that sounds really familiar! I had almost the exact same thing happen with my Ulysee a while back. ABS light, traction control going nuts... It was a nightmare on wet roads. Did you notice any weirdness with the speedometer or the transmission shifting?
