Ulysee cruise control defective plug
Summary of the thread
The cruise control in a 2007 Fiat Ulysee stopped working, and an error was stored in the error memory. Possible causes included a defective cable or plug connection, a blown fuse, issues with the clock spring in the steering wheel, or faulty speed sensors. After checking the fuses and finding them intact, the problem was identified as a defective plug connection, which was resolved at a workshop.

Thanks for the hints! The dashboard light is not coming on and I will check the fuse box tomorrow. Where can I find the clock spring in the steering wheel and how do I check the speed sensors? Are these difficult to access?

Okay, so no dashboard light is a clue. The clock spring is behind the steering wheel; it's what allows the steering wheel to turn while maintaining electrical connections to things like the airbag and horn. Messing with it can be risky because of the airbag, so be careful if you decide to poke around there. As for the speed sensors, they're usually located near the wheels. Honestly, if you're not super comfortable with car electrics, it might be worth taking it to a workshop. My issue turned out to be a corroded connector, which was easy for them to spot. Probably they'll check the cable or plug connection as the error memory suggests.

Thanks a lot for your help. I checked the fuses and they were okay. So I brought it to the workshop as you suggested. Turns out it was a defective plug connection, just as suspected. They charged me 95€ to fix it. Thanks again!

ULYSEE

Hey! I had a similar problem with my Ulysee. Cruise control just died, and yeah, error codes galore. First thing, have you checked the basics? Like, is the dashboard light for cruise control even coming on? And have you had a look at the fuse box? Sometimes it's just a blown fuse. It could also be the clock spring in the steering wheel, which can cause issues with various electrical functions. Also, have you checked the speed sensors? If the car doesn't know how fast it's going, the cruise control won't work.
