Hey there! Thanks for sharing your experience with your Ateca. Sounds very familiar indeed. At least it gives me some relief to know it's not super complex and can be sorted out by a good mechanic. I just want to make sure I'm ready for the expenses though. If you don't mind me asking, how much did you end up forking out for the whole operation? And has anything else popped up related to this since it was fixed? Cheers!

No worries, happy to help. Regarding the expenses, it cost me about 155€ to get that defective cable/plug connection sorted out. Not the cheapest day, I tell ya, but well worth it considering how smoothly the Ateca has been driving since. As for your second query, the good news is, no more hopping around like a kangaroo on a trampoline! Once the mechanic fixed the issue, the incorrect door contact signal was sorted out too. Ain't had any problems related to that since, touch wood. So, brace yourself for the possible moolah blow but in my opinion, it's definitely an investment for your Tarraco's improved performance. Good luck!

You're a lifesaver! Thanks for taking the time to give me all that insight. It's comforting to hear it's something that a skilled mechanic can work out in a jiffy. I guess the expense is kind of inevitable so I should just bite the bullet and get it done. Fingers crossed my Tarraco joins the no-more-trampoline-ride club soon. I genuinely appreciate your help and advice. Cheers and safe driving with your Ateca!

Hey, funny you should mention it, had a similar issue with my 2017 Seat Ateca just last year. Was experiencing rough driving off and on and turned out, it was a defective cable/plug connection messing with the system signals. With the wrong signal, my old girl was giving an odd performance, just like you described, uneven rides, bouncy drives, the lot. The issue surely was serious as it affected the overall performance and drive of the car, but thankfully, not something irreversible. The techs at my garage had to go under the hood to replace the faulty wiring and clean up the plug connections. Took 'em a decent time to spot the issue and get the job done, but it was all sorted in a day. Don't sweat it too much, though don't hesitate to get it checked out. It's a bit of a task but usually, ain't a complex one for a trained eye. Good luck with your Tarraco!
