Uneven ride height and extreme suspension in Citroen Ccrosser 2008: Possible problems with the ride height sensor?
(Translated from German)
Summary of the thread
The conversation revolves around a Citroen Ccrosser 2008 experiencing uneven ride height and extreme bounciness, potentially linked to a faulty ride height sensor. A similar issue in a Citroen C5 was resolved by replacing a defective control unit, which was costly but effective. The suggested solution is to consult a mechanic to confirm if the control unit is the problem and proceed with necessary repairs, despite the potential high cost.

Hi, thanks for your reply! So, I noticed the problem about a month ago. It has definitely gotten worse in that time. My mileage is 9497 km and the last service was only recently. The problem with the control unit could actually be mine, although I don't know for sure yet. But at 1000 euros I'm already swallowing... That would really hurt. Thanks for the tip though, I'll talk to my garage about it!

Hey, thanks for the feedback! See, this could really be a bigger problem as it has gotten worse. It was similar with my Citroen, and got progressively worse until I had to take it to a mechanic. The bad news is that an ECU problem like this can be really expensive, as you've already mentioned. But the good news is that once it's fixed, you probably won't have any more trouble with it. I was glad to get the whole thing over with and my car has been running smoothly ever since. Hopefully it's the same for you. Get advice from your mechanic and don't be afraid to ask him lots of questions. Sorry I can't give you better news, but I think it's better to be honest. Good luck with your Citroen! I hope you can get it sorted soon.

Hello, thanks again for the tip about the control unit and sorry for the late reply. Went to the garage yesterday, they couldn't quite locate the problem yet, but they also suspect it's the control unit. Replacing it would be a big blow to the account... But if it has to be done, then it has to be done. Thank you for your frank words and your advice! It's a shame that something like this always has to be so expensive, but nothing can be done. I'll get through it and then be back on the road again. Thank you again and have a nice day!

Hi, I had a very similar problem with my Citroen C5 (built in 2010, diesel). To be honest, I'm not a car expert, but I do have some experience. In my case, it was the control unit that was defective. I had it repaired in a garage and had to pay around 1000 euros for it. It's expensive, but I haven't had this problem since. However, I would need to know more about your car to be able to help you more precisely. How long have you noticed the problem? Has it gotten worse over time? Any information could be helpful to better assess the problem. Hope this helps you a little!
