Uneven ride height and suspension bounce in Citroen EMehari 2017: Possible connection with door contact signal?

Hey guys, a quick and tricky question about my little electric Citroen EMehari from 2017. It now has a proud 191747 km on the clock. Recently I've noticed that the ride height is uneven and the car bounces extremely... It's like a baby elephant bouncing around on the suspension, you know? Somehow I have the feeling that the problem could be related to a faulty signal from the door contact. Have any of you ever had to deal with this? My last visit to the mechanic scared me, he left the whole car in a broken state. What were your experiences with similar problems? Any info helps! Thanks and best regards

Hi, I once had a similar situation with my 2014 Citroen Berlingo, where the control unit was faulty. It definitely has a lot to do with the electrical components of your car. Wrong signals from the sensors can cause strange problems, just like you describe - all jerky and bumpy. I found out the ECU was the problem, so it had to be replaced. Roughly, I can say it all depends on the signals being processed by the ECU. A malfunction can definitely affect the performance of the car, just like you are experiencing. As far as I can tell, it's not a frivolous problem. You really should have it checked by a mechanic. But don't worry, it's nothing life threatening, more just annoying. Hope this helps! Best regards!

Hey, thanks for the quick reply and the helpful tips! Now I have a bit more hope of getting the little Citroen going again. Hopefully the whole thing won't cost too much. Can you remember how much it cost to repair your ECU? And were there any further problems afterwards or was your Berlingo able to run smoothly again? Thanks in advance! Best regards!

Hello, you're welcome! I actually had to fork out around €1000 to repair the faulty control unit. It tore a small hole in my pocket, but it was worth it. And of course, after that my Berlingo really ran like a charm! By the way, the faulty signal from the door contact on your little Citroen that you were worried about was fixed during my last visit to the mechanic. The car is now driving as it should again. No more funny bounces or any of that nonsense, you know? So, don't let it get you down and do what's best for your little one! All the best!

Hey, thanks for the further information and the encouragement! The €1000 is of course a lot of money, but certainly well spent if you can then drive again without any problems. It's great to hear that the car runs really smoothly afterwards. I'll probably have a look at the door contact too. It's good that you were able to get to grips with it. Well, then I guess it's off to the mechanic and fingers crossed! Thanks again and best wishes!
