Uneven running and loss of power with Peugeot Partner 2017

Jerking on acceleration

Check engine light on

Shaking while idling

Stalling while idling

Unsteady engine

Loss of engine power

Hey guys, I'm really panicking about my 2017 Peugeot Partner. The car has just under 20,000 KM on it, but it's running pretty rough with some strange signs. When accelerating, it twitches, while idling often stutters and the whole car shakes. Also, the power is down and the damn engine light is on. I think it could be the tank ventilation system. Has anyone ever had problems like this and can tell me anything about it? Things didn't exactly go smoothly at my mechanic's the other day... I'd like to hear about your experiences before I have to go back to the garage. Thanks in advance and drive safely!

Hey, I had a similar problem with my 2014 Peugeot 208. It sounded almost exactly like yours, the car was running rough, I also noticed the loss of power and the engine light was on. After this really annoyed me, I went to the garage. It turned out that the activated carbon filter was defective. This is an important part of the tank ventilation system, so you could be right in your assumption. After replacing the filter, my car ran like clockwork again: no more juddering and improved performance. Yes, it was a serious problem as the car cannot function properly without the filter intact. So you should see a mechanic pretty soon. But don't panic - once it's fixed, your car should be running smoothly again. Hope this helps you and good luck with the repair!

Hey, thanks for the answer! That sounds really identical to my problem. Was it expensive to change the activated carbon filter? And have you had any other problems since then that could be related to the original one? I'm just really worried, my car has always been a faithful companion so far... Hopefully this can be fixed soon. Thanks again and have a safe journey!

Hey, first of all, cheer up! Your car will be fine after the repair. It cost me €275 to change the activated charcoal filter. That's a bit expensive, but it was really worth it, because since then my Peugeot has been running like a dream. Since the visit to the mechanic, all the problems relating to the leak in the tank ventilation system have been fixed. So far, no further problems have arisen, so don't worry! Sometimes we just have to swallow and put our money where our mouth is, but in the end it's worth it when our beloved car is running again. Hope this helps you, and good luck! Stay calm and have a safe journey.

Hey, great, your experience really reassures me. The price isn't exactly low, of course, but if it helps my trusty Peugeot back on its feet, then it's worth it. It was really helpful that you shared your experience with me. I'll call my mechanic tomorrow and get it checked out. Hopefully everything goes as smoothly as it did for you. Thanks again and drive carefully!
