(Translated from German)
Summary of the thread
The issue revolves around an unsteady alarm system in a 2015 BMW 1 Series Diesel, suspected to be caused by a faulty tilt sensor. A similar problem was shared by a BMW 3 Series owner, where the tilt sensor had to be replaced to resolve the issue. The advice given was to take the vehicle to a garage for a professional check and possible sensor replacement. Hey, thanks for your answer! That really sounds like my situation. Can you remember how much you paid to replace the sensor back then? And has any similar problem arisen since the replacement, or is the alarm system now working perfectly for you?

It's been a while now, but I seem to remember that replacing the sensor cost around €250 at the time. Since then, the alarm system has been completely fine, no more hiccups! So it was really worth taking it to the mechanic. So the fault with the tilt sensor really was the culprit. So it's off to the garage before the consequences get even worse. Good luck, I hope there's nothing worse with your 1 Series diesel!

Great, thanks for the information! That really helps me. At least now I know what to expect. 250 isn't exactly cheap, but if it really puts an end to the trouble with the alarm system, it seems to be worth the money. Good to hear that you didn't have any further problems afterwards. I think I'll take the plunge and go to the garage after all. Keep your fingers crossed that it's just the tilt sensor! Thanks again for your help!

Hello, If I understand correctly, the tilt sensor in your car is integrated into the siren. You should find these components at the rear right under the bumper.

Hello Dirk, This is a case for our support team, but not for our community. The purpose of the community is to help people who have a defect in their vehicle.

Hello, I drive a 2012 BMW 3 Series and had a similar problem some time ago. In my case it was actually the tilt sensor, which unfortunately doesn't always work as it should. At that time, the sensor had to be completely replaced. Yes, it was a serious matter, because if the alarm system just goes off, it can be quite annoying. The visit to the garage went quite smoothly, although it took them a while to find the problem. After that, everything went quite quickly. Hope this helps you!
