Unusual engine vibrations in the Opel Vivaro 2020 - Suspected defect in the engine bearing

Hey guys, I have a rather unusual situation with my Opel Vivaro 2020 with gasoline engine. The car vibrates strangely from the engine area. This is totally unusual and I strongly suspect that the defect in the engine bearing (vacuum controlled) could be responsible. Have any of you had similar experiences and could tell me what was done in the workshop to solve the problem? What were your experiences and tips? Would be great if you could help me a little! Thanks in advance.

Summary of the thread

A 2020 Opel Vivaro owner is experiencing unusual engine vibrations and suspects a faulty vacuum-controlled engine bearing. A similar issue in another Opel model was resolved by replacing a faulty control unit, at a cost of €1000. The recommended solution is to have the vehicle inspected by a garage to diagnose and repair the problem, and to obtain a detailed explanation of the repairs for future reference.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Hey, your problem sounds familiar to me. I know a bit about cars, but I'm not a professional. I had a similar problem with my Opel Vivaro 2018. It's a different model (Opel Insignia), but the problems seemed very similar. I was lucky with my garage - they are really fit and were able to quickly determine that my control unit was faulty. However, the repair cost me 1000.0 euros. Ouch! Since then, my car has been running smoothly again without any strange vibrations. A tip: It's best to have your car checked by a garage. And please give us a bit more information about your car. Maybe then I can help you better. Engine size, mileage - that would be helpful information. Good luck, buddy!

Thank you for your answer! My Opel has 67531 km on the clock so far and the last service was quite regular. Interesting what you say about the control unit, that could be real. 1000€ is a tough amount, but if it runs smoothly again afterwards, then that would be ok. I'll take my Vivaro to the garage and have it checked. I'll let you know what comes out of it. Thanks, buddy!

No problem, buddy! It's always good when you can share your experiences. Yes, the €1000 hurt at first, but since then my Insignia has been running perfectly again and I'm very happy. I hope it's not any more serious with your Vivaro. Another little tip: always ask the garage to explain exactly what was done and why, so that you can recognize similar problems early on in the future. And if you need a second opinion, you can always post here. After all, we're all here to help each other. Keep us posted and I hope your Vivaro is back in top form soon. Good luck and keep your fingers crossed!

Great, thanks for the tip! I'll definitely make sure the garage explains everything to me in detail. It's always good to know more about your own car. The second opinion here is also super helpful. You guys are really great! I'll definitely keep you posted on what happens with my Vivaro. Thanks again and see you soon, buddy!
