UrbanCruiser preheating lamp stays on
Summary of the thread
The preheating lamp on a 2014 Toyota UrbanCruiser diesel remains on, indicating a potential issue. The problem is suspected to be related to defective glow plugs, which can cause rough cold starts and decreased fuel efficiency. Replacing the faulty glow plugs resolved the issue, as confirmed by a workshop diagnosis.

Thanks for the quick reply! Yes, I've noticed a slight drop in fuel efficiency and the cold starts are definitely rougher. The check engine light hasn't come on, though. Was it definitely the glow plugs in your case, and did it cause any further issues?

For me, it was indeed the glow plugs. After replacement, everything went back to normal. Given your symptoms, I'd bet that's your problem too. But I would recommend getting it checked out by a workshop to be sure. Faulty glow plugs can affect engine combustion.

Thanks a lot for sharing your experience! I took it to the workshop, and you were right - it was a defective glow plug. Cost me 440€ to repair. Appreciate the help!

Hey there! I also drive an UrbanCruiser (though a slightly older model). I had similar symptoms last winter – the preheating light stayed on, and the engine was a bit rough on cold starts. Did you notice any changes in fuel efficiency or a check engine light?
