UrbanCruiser sun blind failure
Summary of the thread
A 2010 Toyota UrbanCruiser owner is experiencing a sun blind defect, where it is stuck and accompanied by a faint clicking noise. This issue is likely due to a failing sun blind motor. The recommended solution is to visit a workshop for a potential replacement of the entire sun blind assembly.

Yes, there's a faint clicking sound when trying to use it.

Bingo! The clicking is the giveaway. It's almost certainly the motor, like a tiny electric window motor giving up the ghost. In my case, I tried fiddling with it, but honestly, you're better off biting the bullet and taking it to a workshop. They'll likely need to replace the whole sun blind assembly. I know it stings, but save yourself the headache. I paid around 330€ for the fix, so brace yourself for that.

I appreciate the confirmation and advice. It appears a visit to the workshop is indeed warranted. Thank you for sharing your experience and the cost estimate. I will proceed accordingly.

Hey! I've got an UrbanCruiser too, and your description rings a bell. Sounds exactly like what happened with my sun blind a while back. Tell me, when it gets stuck, does it make any weird noises, like a faint grinding or clicking?
