Thank you for your quick response. No, there hasn't been any recent work on the engine, and I haven't noticed any unusual noises. If it is the camshaft position sensor, could the encoder wheel on the camshafts be defective? Is it advisable to attempt a replacement myself, or should I consult a professional?

Given the symptoms and the lack of recent work, a defective encoder wheel on the camshafts is a likely cause. While replacing the sensor might seem straightforward, improper ignition timing can lead to further complications. Considering the potential risks, I would recommend consulting a qualified mechanic for diagnosis and repair.

I appreciate your advice. I took your recommendation and brought the Urvan to a reputable workshop. They confirmed that the camshaft sensor was indeed defective, most likely due to the encoder wheel. The total repair cost came to 695€. Thank you again for your valuable input!

Hello. Poor starting, stalling, and the check engine light do point towards a sensor issue. However, it might be the camshaft position sensor rather than the crankshaft sensor. Has there been any recent work done on the engine or any unusual noises?
