Urvan oil pressure warning lamp
Summary of the thread
A 2005 Nissan Urvan with a gasoline engine is experiencing an oil pressure warning light issue. The oil appears sludgy, suggesting contamination, which could be due to a clogged oil filter and overdue maintenance. The recommended solution is to perform an oil change and replace the oil filter to prevent potential engine damage.

Hmm, it's been a while since the last oil change, I might have exceeded the maintenance interval. Is it possible the oil contamination could cause a serious oil leak?

Definitely possible. If the oil filter is clogged and the oil is contaminated, it can lead to all sorts of problems, including reduced oil pressure and potential leaks. I would strongly recommend getting it checked at a workshop as soon as possible to prevent further damage.

Thanks for the advice! I took it to the workshop, and you were right – the oil was super contaminated, and the filter was shot. An oil change and new filter cost me 165€, but at least I avoided major engine damage!

Sounds familiar. I've had a similar issue with my Urvan. When was the last time you did an oil change? Sludgy oil is a classic sign of oil contamination. Check your oil filter too; it might be clogged.
