UX rear window heating malfunction
Summary of the thread
The rear window heating malfunction in a 2019 Lexus UX hybrid could be due to a heavily discharged or defective battery, as suggested by the error memory indicating a fault. However, replacing the battery did not resolve a similar issue for another owner, who found the problem to be a fault in the heating element itself, requiring professional diagnosis and replacement of the rear window. It is recommended to have the vehicle professionally diagnosed to determine the exact cause and necessary repairs.
Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Thank you for your quick response. I did not observe any indications of a weak battery prior to this. Starting was always normal. I will check the fuses, but I am curious if replacing the battery resolved the problem for you?

Unfortunately, replacing the battery did not solve the problem. I ended up taking it to a workshop. They diagnosed it as a fault in the heating element itself after performing multiple tests. They ultimately replaced the rear window. I would suggest you have it professionally diagnosed to be sure.

I appreciate the information provided. It seems a workshop visit is indeed necessary. I will proceed accordingly. As a follow up, they have found the issue, and the cost for repair is 290€. Thank you again.

Hey there, I have a UX as well and had something similar happen last year. Was there any indication the battery was weak, like slow starts or anything? In my case, the rear defroster just stopped working out of the blue. Did you check the relevant fuses?
