V Klasse cruise control issue
Summary of the thread
The cruise control on a 2000 diesel V Klasse was non-functional, displaying an error message on the speedometer. The issue was suspected to be related to a faulty cable, plug connection at the throttle body, or a fuse box problem. After checking fuses and considering cleaning the throttle body, the problem was resolved by a workshop, which identified and cleaned a corroded connector, restoring the cruise control functionality.

I checked the obvious fuses in the fuse box. Seemed fine at first glance, but maybe I should double-check with a multimeter? Regarding the throttle body, is there a specific procedure you'd recommend for cleaning it, or is it fairly straightforward? I'm trying to avoid making things worse.

I didn't have an error message, so my troubleshooting was different. Cleaning the throttle body is generally straightforward, just be careful with the sensors. Given your error code and the fact that you've checked the fuses, it might be worth getting a proper diagnostics check at a workshop. Could save you a lot of time and potential headaches.

Thanks for the input. I took it to a workshop; turns out it was a corroded connector. They cleaned it up and charged me 95€. Cruise control is working again, so I'm happy.

Sounds familiar. I had a similar issue with my old Renault, though it wasn't exactly the same. Cruise control stopped working, but no error messages. Did you check the basics like fuses? A faulty system in the fuse box can cause weird issues. Also, have you tried cleaning the throttle body? Sometimes that can help.
