V Klasse fuel pressure woes Engine light and rough running
Summary of the thread
A 2006 V Klasse diesel is experiencing fuel pressure issues, indicated by an engine light and rough running, particularly at idle and during acceleration. The problem is suspected to be related to the fuel delivery system, possibly involving the fuel pump, fuel injectors, or a faulty connection to the fuel pressure sensor. After consulting with others who had similar issues, it was suggested to inspect the fuel pressure sensor and related connections. A workshop diagnosed and fixed a defective cable at the fuel pressure sensor, resolving the issue.

I cannot definitively confirm that replacing the fuel pressure sensor will resolve your issue. However, I recommend a thorough inspection by a qualified workshop to diagnose the root cause. It is better to be safe than sorry. They will be able to test the fuel system and pinpoint the exact problem.

I'm not a mechanic, but I experienced similar symptoms in my V Klasse. The check engine light illuminated, the engine operation was rough, and stalling occurred at idle. The issues suggest the fuel system is compromised. Have you considered the fuel pressure sensor itself as a potential source of the problem?
