V Klasse rough idling and error code

Thanks for the quick reply I did a quick visual inspection, and honestly, nothing jumped out at me Maybe I need to look closer, or perhaps it's a subtle crack You mentioned the vibration getting worse in drive or reverse – good point I hadn't paid specific attention to that But if it IS a subtle crack, would that even trigger an error code I'm just trying to figure out if the error is directly related to the mount itself electrical connection issue, or something else entirely

Okay, so with a subtle crack, it could be hard to see. It depends on how sensitive the error system is in our cars. I'm not sure how or if these mounts have sensors. You might be right about the electrical connection, as that is also a common gremlin. Honestly, with error codes popping up, and if you're uncertain, I'd probably take it to a workshop. They can diagnose it properly. It might save you a lot of headache in the long run. I remember I couldn't identify the problem. They checked the error memory and right away they could understand where the issue was coming from.

You were right, it was definitely the engine mount. I took it to the workshop, they confirmed the error code was related to the mount. Turns out the cable was indeed faulty. The estimated cost was around 95€, which is way lower than I expected to pay. Replaced the cable, and the rough idling is gone. Thanks again for the advice!

Hey, that sounds familiar. I have a V Klasse as well, though I cannot remember the exact year, and I had something similar happen not too long ago. Rough idling can definitely point to engine mount issues. Did you check the visual aspect of the rubber mount? Sometimes it's pretty obvious if it's cracked or completely gone. Also, I'm wondering, does the vibration get worse when you put it in drive or reverse? I would also consider checking the transmission mount while you are at it because it could contribute to the idling if it is related.
