V40 AdBlue Tank Issue

I'm having trouble with my 2015 Volvo V40 diesel. The AdBlue tank seems empty even after refills, triggering an error and storing a fault code. Now the engine won't start. Could a defective AdBlue output from the tank to the dosing unit be the problem?

Summary of the thread

A 2015 Volvo V40 diesel is experiencing issues with the AdBlue tank, which appears empty despite refills, leading to an error code and preventing the engine from starting. The problem may be due to a defective AdBlue output from the tank to the dosing unit. A workshop visit confirmed the defective output, and after replacement, the vehicle is functioning properly again.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

I've had similar issues with my V40. AdBlue problems can be a real pain. Is your fuel efficiency also suffering? I noticed mine dropped before the service light came on. Did you check the SCR catalyst?

Fuel efficiency hasn't changed, and I haven't checked the SCR catalyst. Besides the output, could a faulty AdBlue pump also cause this?

It's possible, but the tank issue you mentioned sounds more likely based on my experience. With all those symptoms, I'd recommend a workshop visit. Better safe than sorry with emissions control.

Thanks for sharing your experience. A workshop visit was the right call. The AdBlue output was defective. Replacement and labor cost 250€. Now the Volvo runs perfectly again.
