V40 Alarm System Error

I've got a head-scratcher with my 2015 Volvo V40 diesel. I'm getting an error stored in the error memory related to the siren communication, and it's causing my alarm system to be completely non-functional. I've already checked the usual suspects – fuses look good. Could a defective cable or plug connection really be the culprit, as some sources suggest? I'm wondering if anyone else has run into a similar signal problem related to the alarm controller on these V40s?

I had something similar happen with my V40. Was your alarm system completely dead, or were there any other weird electrical issues going on at the same time?

Good question! As far as I can tell, it's just the alarm system that's affected. Everything else seems to be working fine. Did you manage to resolve the vehicle security issue yourself, or did you end up taking it somewhere?

Mine was completely dead too. I poked around a bit, but didn't want to mess anything up, so I took it to a workshop. They sorted it out pretty quickly. Honestly, unless you're really confident with electrical stuff, I'd recommend getting it checked out professionally. Peace of mind and all that.

Appreciate the advice! Sounds like the workshop is the way to go. I was hoping to avoid it, but better safe than sorry. I'll book it in. The eventual repair cost was 95€. Thanks again!
