V40 Diesel Fuel Pressure Regulator
Summary of the thread
A 2015 Volvo V40 diesel is experiencing issues such as the check engine light, engine stalling at idle, and reduced power after a recent fuel filter change. These symptoms suggest a potential problem with the fuel pressure regulator, possibly triggered by the filter replacement. The solution involved confirming the diagnosis through error code readings and replacing the faulty fuel pressure regulator, which resolved the issues.

Interesting. You think it's the fuel pressure regulator specifically? Was it a straight swap for you, or did you have to do any diagnostics to confirm?

In my case, the error entries clearly pointed to the fuel pressure regulator. While it could be something else in the fuel system, given the recent filter change and the error message, the regulator is suspect. If you can read the error codes, that's ideal. If not, I'd suggest a visit to a workshop to confirm the diagnosis.

Thanks for the insight. Turns out you were spot on! It was indeed the fuel pressure regulator. I took it to the workshop, they confirmed the diagnosis, and after replacing the regulator (€45), everything is back to normal. Seems like that fuel filter change was the catalyst. Appreciate the help!

I had similar symptoms on my 2018 Opel Insignia after a fuel filter change. Check engine light, pressure drop, engine misfire. Have you checked the error entries? Could be a defective fuel pressure regulator.
