V40 Driver Seat Heating Failure
Summary of the thread
The driver seat heating in a 2017 Volvo V40 has stopped working, and an error code is present. The issue is suspected to be a faulty seat heating mat. A similar problem in another vehicle was due to a defective thermal sensor, but given the error code and the user's discomfort with repairs, professional diagnosis and repair are recommended. The repair shop has quoted a price, indicating they also suspect the seat heating mat as the cause.

Thanks! Where is that sensor located? I'm not comfortable tearing the seat apart myself.

On the Audi, it was embedded in the seat cushion near the heating element. Given that your Volvo is throwing an error, and you aren't comfortable with automotive repair, I'd advise getting it checked out by a workshop. You're likely looking at a defective seat heating mat. I bit the bullet and had the dealer do the work.

Okay, I appreciate the advice. I'll take it to a shop and have them diagnose the issue. They quoted around 390€ for replacement, so I guess they're thinking it's the seat heating mat too.

I had a similar issue with my old Audi A3. The seat heater wouldn't warm up, but it turned out to be a faulty thermal sensor within the seat cushion. Have you checked the sensor?
