V40 Heater Not Working
Summary of the thread
A 2014 Volvo V40 diesel experienced a heater malfunction, suspected to be due to a defective water valve, as indicated by an error code. Despite no visible coolant leaks or engine overheating, the issue was confirmed by a workshop to be a faulty water valve. After replacement, the heater functioned correctly again.

No, there were no signs of engine overheating, at least none that I observed. What was the exact problem with your Astra? Was the error stored in your error memory as well?

Yes, the error was in the memory, and yes, it was also a defective water valve. I would advise visiting a workshop.

Thanks, will do. The workshop confirmed that the water valve was defective. They fixed or replaced it for around 95€. The heating works again as expected.

I had a similar problem with my Opel Astra. I suspect the cause to be the water valve or a related component. Was there any sign of engine overheating at any time?
