V40 Oil Pressure Warning Light
Summary of the thread
A 2013 Volvo V40 diesel owner reported an oil pressure warning light and suspected a faulty engine oil temperature sensor. Another participant suggested checking the cable and plug connection for issues like loose wires or corrosion. Upon inspection at a workshop, it was confirmed that a defective cable/plug connection was the cause, which was then cleaned and resolved the issue.

Thanks for the tip! When you say 'dodgy connection', do you mean a loose wire, or corrosion, or something else?

Could be either, really. In my case, it was corrosion on the plug pins causing a bad reading. I'd say it's worth a look before replacing the sensor. But to be on the safe side, I drove to the workshop afterwards and had them check it out.

Thanks! You were spot on. Took it to the workshop, and it was indeed a defective cable/plug connection. They cleaned it up, and all's well. Cost me 95€ Appreciate the help!

Sounds familiar! Had something similar happen on my old BMW 3 Series. Same symptoms, though it turned out to be a dodgy connection. Have you checked the cable and plug connection of the component? Could be that simple.
