V40 Power Window Failure
Summary of the thread
The power windows on a 2001 Volvo V40 diesel stopped working, with fuses intact and an error stored but not pinpointed by the garage. Possible causes considered were the regulator motor or window track. However, another individual with a similar issue suggested the power window switch might be the problem, which turned out to be the case. Replacing the defective switch resolved the issue.

Thanks! No, they didn't specifically mention the switch, focusing more on the motor and regulator. How did you figure out it was the switch? Was it difficult to diagnose?

It took some fiddling, but after checking fuses and wiring, the workshop suggested it could be the switch. Apparently, it's a fairly common issue. If the diagnostic says there's an error, it's probably best to take it to a workshop.

Thanks a lot! I'll suggest they take a closer look at the switch. Turns out it was indeed the power window switch that was defective. A replacement and fitting cost me around 200€. Appreciate your help!

I had something similar happen on my V40. All the power windows just quit. Did the garage mention anything about the power window switch itself? That was the culprit in my case.
