Intermittent at first, then totally disabled. Did cleaning the sensor fix it for you, or did you have to replace it? And was it expensive? I'm hoping it's not a full replacement, because I'm not looking forward to getting bent over by Volvo!

I didn't try cleaning it myself. I just took it straight to the workshop. They sorted it out pretty quick. They said it was just a dirty sensor and cost me around 45€ including VAT. I'd suggest getting it checked out, especially if it's completely disabled now.

Thanks for the info! I appreciate it! I'll try cleaning the sensor myself first. If that doesn't work, I'll take it to the shop as you suggested. For anyone with a similar problem: the sensor was just dirty! A quick clean and the error is gone. Cost me nothing but a bit of time. Thanks again!

That sounds familiar. I've got a V40 too, and I had similar issues with the radar sensor. Error messages all over the place, the car throwing a fit about systems not working. Was yours completely disabled, or just intermittent?
