V40 Sunroof Not Initialized Error
Summary of the thread
The sunroof on a 2001 Volvo V40 displayed a 'not initialized' error, causing the sunblind to be stuck and the convertible top to be inoperable. The issue was suspected to be related to coding, but it was advised to first check the sunroof motor and wiring for damage or loose connections. Ultimately, the problem was resolved by taking the car to a shop for recalibration, confirming a coding error as the cause.

Thanks. The error is always there. Any specific spots I should check on the motor and wiring?

My error was also persistent. Check the connector to the motor for corrosion or loose pins first. It's hard to know without diagnostic tools. Have you thought about taking it to a shop for a sunroof system calibration?

Thanks for the advice. I took it to a shop, and the sunroof needed recalibration because of a coding error, like you said. Cost 75€ Thanks for the help.

I had a similar issue with my V40 sunroof. Is the error message always there, or does it come and go? Have you checked the sunroof motor and wiring for damage or loose connections? Look there before assuming it's a coding issue.
