V40 uneven engine running

My 2018 Volvo V40 gasoline engine is running unevenly, the check engine light is on, and the error memory logged a fault at 158170 km. The car jerks when I accelerate. Could this be an oxygen sensor or fuel injector problem? I'm worried about a potential engine misfire.

Summary of the thread

A 2018 Volvo V40 is experiencing uneven engine performance, with the check engine light on and jerking during acceleration. The issue could be related to an oxygen sensor, fuel injector, or a potential engine misfire. A similar case was resolved by fixing a small leak in the exhaust system, suggesting a workshop inspection to prevent further damage.

I had a similar issue with my V40. Does it also feel like it's idling rough sometimes? I also had jerking acceleration. Have you checked for any unusual noises, especially around the exhaust?

Yes, the idling is indeed rough at times. I haven't specifically listened for exhaust noises. Where should I be checking?

Rough idle plus jerking acceleration definitely sounds familiar. It turned out to be a small leak in my exhaust system. The garage confirmed it. I'd suggest a workshop check before it damages other components. It cost me around 265€ to fix.

Thanks! A leak in the exhaust system seems likely. I will schedule an appointment with a workshop to have it inspected and repaired.
