Thanks for the tip! I'll check the cable and plug connection. When you say "defective connection", what exactly should I be looking for? Is it something obvious like a loose wire, or is it more subtle?

Indeed, I was referring to the cable and plug connection to the fuel filter heater. You should inspect the plug for corrosion or damage, and ensure the wires are firmly connected. However, given the symptoms and the error code, it might be best to have a workshop perform a proper diagnosis. They have the tools to pinpoint the exact problem.

Took it to the workshop, and you were spot on! Turns out the cable to the fuel filter heater was corroded. They cleaned it up and replaced a small section of the wiring. Cost me 95€, but the car is running great again. Thanks for the help!

I had a similar issue with my V50. The symptoms you describe point towards a problem with the fuel system. Have you checked the cable and plug connection to the fuel filter heater? A defective connection there is a common cause. By fuel filter heater I mean the electrical component that warms up the fuel going into the filter. It helps in colder weather.
