V50 Heater Blowing Lukewarm Air
Summary of the thread
A 2004 Volvo V50 diesel is experiencing an issue where the heater only blows lukewarm air. The problem is linked to an error code indicating a faulty valve circuit, likely due to defective wiring or a connector. The suggested solution is to have the vehicle professionally checked, which led to the diagnosis of a defective water valve with a corroded connector. The issue was resolved at a workshop.

The code was something about the valve circuit being faulty. He said the likely cause is a defective cable or plug connection. Did yours throw a similar code? How much did it sting you?

Yeah, sounds like the same thing. I fiddled around with it for a bit, but honestly, I'm not great with electrics. Bit the bullet and took it to a shop. They sorted it quick enough and saved me a load of hassle. I'd recommend getting it checked out professionally, especially if it's throwing error codes.

Makes sense. Appreciate the advice! It was the water valve like you said. Workshop diagnosed it straight away – defective valve with a corroded connector. 95€ all in. Thanks again for your help!

I've got a V50 too, and I had similar heating issues last winter. Ended up being something to do with a valve in the cooling system. Was the error code anything specific, or just a generic code about the cooling?
