V50 Key Battery Low Error

My 2004 Volvo V50 with a gasoline engine is throwing a 'key battery low' error. Keyless entry is dead, there's a stored error, and unlocking/locking are acting up. Anyone seen this before?

I had something similar happen with my V50. Key fob acted all wonky. Does the warning pop up every time you start the car, or is it intermittent?

Good to know I'm not alone! The warning is constant now. No matter how many times I clear the error, it's back within seconds. What was the fix for yours?

Mine was exactly the same! Constant warning, keyless entry kaput. I ended up just taking it to a workshop. Turned out to be a faulty battery in the key fob. They replaced it, and everything was golden again. Didn't cost an arm and a leg, either.

Thanks for the tip! I'll swap out the battery, and hopefully, that'll do the trick. Saved me a ton of headache. A new battery in the key fob did the trick, and cost me 37€. Cheers!
