V50 Parking Aid Failure
Summary of the thread
The parking aid system on a 2009 Volvo V50 is non-functional, with a fault stored in the error memory but no detailed information provided. The issue is suspected to be due to a defective cable or plug connection. A suggestion is made to check the blind spot sensors and the main control module's wiring, as a faulty radar sensor or bad connection could disrupt the entire system. It is recommended to have the system professionally checked to accurately diagnose and resolve the problem.

Good shout! Where exactly are those blind spot sensors located? I'm guessing somewhere in the rear bumper? Any tips on how to get to them without breaking half the car?

Yep, they're behind the rear bumper, usually on the sides. Honestly, I wouldn't recommend tackling it yourself unless you're really confident. I ended up taking mine to a workshop, and they sorted it out pretty quickly. Probably best to get it checked professionally to pinpoint the exact problem, could save you a lot of time and potential damage.

Cheers for the advice! Looks like a trip to the workshop is in order. They quoted me 95€ for checking the cable or plug connection. Hopefully that fixes it!

Hey, I had exactly the same on my V50. It's a pain, isn't it? Did you check the blind spot sensors? It could be a faulty radar sensor causing the issue. They're like the nervous system of the parking aid, and a single bad connection can bring the whole system down. Check all the proximity sensors and the main control module's wiring.
