V50 rail pressure sensor issue

I'm having issues with my 2009 Volvo V50 diesel. The check engine light keeps popping up, and sometimes the engine stalls when idling. Plus, it feels like I'm not getting the usual power when I accelerate. I scanned it and got a 'rail pressure sensor signal faulty' error. Anyone else run into this?

Summary of the thread

A 2009 Volvo V50 diesel is experiencing issues with the check engine light, engine stalling, and reduced power during acceleration. The problem is identified as a 'rail pressure sensor signal faulty' error. The suggested solution is to replace the defective rail pressure sensor, which resolved similar issues for another individual. It is recommended to have a professional handle the repair due to the complexity of fuel injection systems.

Yep, sounds familiar! I had something similar happen on my V50. Is it throwing any other codes, or just the pressure sensor one?

Just the pressure sensor one, as far as I can see. Did replacing the sensor fix it for you?

It did indeed! Same symptoms and error code. But honestly, unless you're comfortable working on fuel injection systems, I'd suggest getting it checked by a pro. Fuel pressures are no joke.

Thanks for the heads up! I'll take it to my local shop and have them take a look. Turns out the pressure sensor was indeed defective, and the whole repair cost me 240€. All good now!
