V50 Terminal 15 Ignition Interrupted Error

Alright Volvo gurus, I'm pulling my hair out here! My 2010 V50 diesel is throwing a 'Terminal 15 ignition positive interrupted' error. Engine won't even think about starting. I've got just 28033 km on the clock! I suspect something is broken, because the error is stored in memory. Anyone seen this gremlin before? I’m guessing it’s a circuit break, voltage drop or relay switch somewhere… maybe something with the battery terminal or starter solenoid?

Hmm, 'Terminal 15' usually points to an issue within the ignition circuit itself. It could be a bad connection somewhere. Have you checked all the relevant fuses and relays? Also, have you tested the voltage at the ignition switch itself when you try to start the car? That would help narrow down if the problem is upstream or downstream of the switch. Also, what is the exact error code?

Good point about the voltage, hadn't thought of that. Which fuses and relays should I be focusing on specifically? And I don't have the exact error code at hand, sorry. Is there a common one?

Without the exact code, it's tough to pinpoint. Based on experience, check the main fuses in the engine compartment fuse box and the relay for the starter solenoid. But honestly, 'Terminal 15' issues can be tricky to diagnose without proper equipment. Given your symptoms, and without the error code, it sounds like it might be best to take it to a workshop.

Cheers for the advice! I took it to the shop and it was indeed a defective cable or plug connection. Cost me 95€, but at least she's running again!
