V60 Fuel Flap Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2011 Volvo V60 diesel is experiencing a malfunction with the fuel flap release, which is not locking or unlocking and is causing additional errors. The issue is suspected to be related to the linkage or a faulty cable. A similar problem in another V60 was attributed to a faulty electric actuator. The recommended solution is to have the vehicle diagnosed and repaired by a professional, which ultimately resolved the issue for a cost of 210€.

Electric release for sure. When yours went haywire, did it throw any other weird errors, or just the fuel flap refusing to play ball? Trying to figure out if this is a simple fix or a sign of something bigger lurking...

Just the fuel flap being stubborn, thankfully! But honestly, messing with electrics can be a real head-scratcher, so I wouldn't rule out a visit to a reputable workshop. They'll be able to properly diagnose it and get it sorted. Could be a faulty actuator or wiring issue.

Cheers! I appreciate the insight. Ended up biting the bullet and taking it in. Turns out the release mechanism was indeed toast. Cost me 210€ for the repair, but at least it's fixed!

Whoa, sounds familiar! I've got a V60 too, and while mine's a petrol version, I had a similar issue with the fuel filler flap a while back. Is yours electric release or cable? I think it was the electric actuator on mine being a pain, not too sure though…
