V60 Mirror Heating Failure

I've got a 2020 Volvo V60 hybrid, and the mirror heating seems totally dead. Both mirrors, nothing happening. I've checked the fuses, and they seem fine. The dashboard doesn't show any warnings, but I plugged in an OBD reader and there's an error stored relating to the mirror heaters. Anyone else had this happen? It's driving me nuts, especially with the cold weather lately!

Summary of the thread

A 2020 Volvo V60 hybrid is experiencing a failure in the mirror heating system, with both mirrors not functioning. The fuses appear intact, and no dashboard warnings are present, but an OBD reader indicates an error related to the mirror heaters. A potential cause could be corroded or loose connections to the mirrors. It is suggested to have a professional check the connections, as attempting to fix it personally might lead to further damage.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Sounds familiar! I've got a V60 too (though not a hybrid), and I had a similar problem last winter. Mirror heating just quit. An OBD reader is an on-board diagnostics reader, for those who don't know. Did you check the connections to the mirror itself? They can get corroded or loose.

Thanks for the quick reply! When you say "connections to the mirror itself", do you mean taking the mirror glass out? I'm a bit worried about breaking something if I start prying. Is it easy to get to, or am I better off just taking it to a shop?

Yep, that's what I mean. Honestly, unless you're super comfortable with that kind of thing, I'd say just bite the bullet and go to a workshop. I tried fiddling with mine and almost made it worse. In the end, my mechanic found a dodgy plug, cleaned it up and all was well. Better safe than sorry, right?

Okay, that's the confirmation I needed! I'll book it in for a check-up then. I saw the error code pointed towards a cable or plug connection issue so that sounds about right. The workshop quoted me 95€, so hopefully that's all it is. Thanks for the help!
